As a great writer and thinker, Marcel Proust always
strove for the maximum depth of detail and precision – an aspiration
shared by the Writers Edition Marcel Proust. The
eight-sided barrel, with its delicate engravings, recalls the style
prevailing in Proust’s most creative period and, like the mountings,
consists of 925 sterling silver. The barrel is also decorated by the
engraved signature of the writer. As a tribute to Marcel Proust’s
most popular work, the rhodium-plated 18-karat gold nib bears a delicate
engraving of an hourglass.
Marcel Proust, one of the most popular French authors
and philosophers of his time, fascinated readers with his books and
their brilliantly observed descriptions of people and nature, and,
as a charismatic figure of the fine Paris salons, he also delighted
people with his rhetoric and wit. In what is probably his most important
work – “Remembrance of Things Past” – Proust’s new literary stylistic
device, the inner monologue, was combined masterfully with his analytical
descriptions, which, in their candour, often allow readers to see
themselves in them.
Launched in 1999, this Limited Edition consisted of 17.000 Fountain
Pens, 16.000 Ballpoint Pens, and 4.000 Sets, including a fountain
pen, ballpoint pen and a mechanical pencil. The instruments consist
of a elicately engraved, eight-sided barrel. 925 sterling silver,
and a Rhodium-plated 18-karat gold nib. |

The new Writers Edition ball point
pens in honour of the distinguished Irish free thinker George
Bernard Shaw are dark green marbled lacquer punctuated with
platinum-plated fittings. This pen is inspired by Shaw’s best-known
character from his play “Pygmalion”: Eliza Doolittle. Just as Eliza,
a poor flower girl, is brought up to be an aristocratic lady, so the
fine platinum of the pen is replaced more and more towards the cap
by the opulent dark green of t.
This deep, marbled green, indeed, originally represents the lush
green meadows of Ireland that Shaw left behind
This edition was launched in 2008; there were 18,000 ballpoint pens,
and 4,000 sets composed of a fountain pen, ballpoint pen and mechanical
pencil, and, of course, a limited number of fountain pens and mechanical
penclls..
This pen is brand new/never used, in its original box, with manual
(blank "International Reply Card"). LTFL price US$ 569.

| The Writers Edition
“William Faulkner” is dedicated to the literary master
of modernism. The shape and surface of this unique writing instrument
are reminiscent of the novelist’s early creative period and the style
of art déco. The black-brown precious resin, shimmering like mother-of-pearl,
meets the bright brilliance of the platinum finish with its subtle
ring structure. This represents a shift in point of view as we encounter
it in Faulkner’s works.
On the cap, the precious resin is also adorned by the writer’s original
signature. The hand-crafted nib is particularly distinct. It is a
reference to another great passion of the writer: aerobatics. Faulkner’s
biplane glides through layer after layer of clouds on the platinum-plated
18-K gold nib.
Launched 2007, the William Faulkner Limited Edition
consisted of 16,000 fountain pens, 18,000 ballpoint pens, and 4,000
propelling pencils which are only available as part of the set. The
hand-crafted platinum-plated 18-K gold nib has a case of black-brown
shimmering precious resin with a platinum-plated barrel and cap with
subtle ring structure featuring thel author’s signature on the cap.
This pen is brand new/never used, in its original box, with manual
(blank "International Reply Card"). Production No. 10870/16,000,

As with Poe’s works,
in which logic and the supernatural are linked in a unique way, the
Writers Edition Edgar Allan. Poe also demonstrates
a profound aesthetic sense in every detail. The fascinating midnight
blue marbling effect on the cap and the barrel gives the pen a mysterious
gleam.
Edgar Allan Poe’s gold-coloured signature is inscribed
on the cap. Victorian ornamentation decorates the gold-plated ring
under the clip and, as a further tribute to the author, the 18-karat
gold nib has a delicate engraving of the raven from Poe’s famous poem.
Edgar Allan Poe gained world fame for his tales
of horror and the supernatural. In works such as “The Fall of the
House of Usher” and “The Murders in the Rue Morgue”, Poe managed to
create a unique blend of intellect, fantasy and morbidity. In “The
Raven”, the grand master of the horror story created a poem that is
still learned by almost every schoolchild in the English-speaking
world.
Although Edgar Allan Poe came under criticism throughout
his life in the bourgeois American society of the 19th century, today
he is acclaimed as a great and timeless author and as a pioneer of
modern literature.
Launched in 1998, the Poe series consisted of 14.000 Fountain Pens
and 12.000 Ballpoint Pens, of midnight blue marbled precious resin
with gold-plated mountings and an 18 karat gold nib.
This pen is brand new/never used, in its original box, with manual
(blank "International Reply Card"). Production No. 10958/15,000,
LTFL price US$ 890.
