Corum uses the face or tail of a US gold
coin as the dial; the ultra-thin movement is placed between the two
sides of a cut out coin and enclosed by the circular case whose edges
are grooved like those of coin.
In choosing the $10 American Eagle or the $20 American Double Eagle,
Corum immediately became a watch icon in the USA. The obvious rarity
of these coins, enhanced by the fact that the Coin Watch was seen on
the wrists of several American presidents, made this timepiece an avidly
sought after collector’s item in the United States.
After several years of interruption, Corum has now again started production
of this unique timekeeper, taking advantage of the brand’s current technical
prowess. In this regard, the Coin Watch is emblematic of Corum’s watchmaking
approach, which looks for originality and ways to combine the latest
in technology with daring creativity. |

| LTFL obtained
this new and unworn Corum 18kt yellow gold US $ 10 gold coin watch from
a retailer who recently closed. This stunning example of the iconic
Corum gold coin series, that catapulted them to household name status
was purchased by the retailer when they were an authorized Corum dealer.
It is in flawless condition, with all correct Corum markings and gold
hallmarks. The shiny dark brown croco strap well complements the rich
gold found in the case and coin. While this striking piece was proudly
displayed in the retailer's showroom, they experienced some damage to
their storage area, so, while LTFL can authenticate the history of this
unworn timepiece, it is sold without accompanying manuals. It is sold
with a padded storage case, and represents a unique opportunity to own
a new Corum coin series watch at an extremely attractive price. |
